This contest is open to all students participating in JA-YE Programmes who are 15-18 years old.

This contest awards the best responsible business ideas from students across Europe.

What can be submitted?

You can submit an idea for a possible business (product, service or both) which meets the contest criteria.

Contest Criteria

The best ideas will be judged on the following criteria:

1. Demonstrate strong market potential: showing the ability to be profitable and competitive
2. Demonstrate social responsibility: meeting the wider concerns of stakeholders such as employees, suppliers, customers and local communities
3. Demonstrate environmental excellence: preventing pollution, optimizing resource efficiency and developing products with minimal environmental impacts
4. Be innovative: Innovative approach of business solution

Time Frame:September 1st, 2007 – May 31st, 2008

Participate and Win!

Minimal investment, maximum yield: Describe your idea and convince us on maximum three A4 pages, brief and to the point, why your responsible business idea deserves to win. Please submit your idea in English.

Submission process

This competition is by submission only and can be awarded to any JA-YE student company in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy (TBC), Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and Spain.

Each JA-YE student company can submit their business ideas in the following way:

• in their own language to the national JA-YE organisation
• in English to JA-YE Europe on this website by uploading the document

Submissions received after the deadline (May 31st 2008) will not be considered.

What happens next?

The organizers will review all received proposals and present them to an international jury of HP CSR practitioners and JA-YE representatives. The jury will then produce a shortlist and select the winner. The winner will be announced on this website on July 1st 2008.

Awards

The winning team will receive an HP product for each member of the team (max. 5) and each member of the team (max. 5) will be invited to attend the JA-YE Europe Company of the Year Competition 2008 which will take place in Stockholm in July 2008.
